Friends of Marty Robbins Museum
A 501 (C) 3 Non-Profit Organization
Looking for a nice day trip to fill an otherwise ordinary weekend? Take a trip to Willcox, Arizona. A short 4 hour drive south from the valley on East I-10 takes you to one of Arizona's historical areas.
The Friends of Marty Robbins, Inc. is dedicated to "Keeping Marty's Music and Memory Alive." The museum displays are colorful and interesting, some of which are based on songs that Marty wrote. Marty Robbins is an important part of Arizona's entertainment history. Born in Glendale, Arizona, he was a US Navy veteran of WW II, singer, songwriter, author, actor and Nascar race car driver. Marty made history as the first country singer to win a "Grammy" for his song "El Paso". His love of music and writing together helped him to form his own unique style.
The Annual Tribute to Marty Robbins always features the 3-Wheel Drive Band, the official tribute band, who also played with Marty. The Friends of Marty Robbins Performers are also on board for the celebration and present a variety of songs that Marty Robbins wrote or recorded.
The 21st Annual Tribute to Marty Robbins is scheduled to be held March2 - March 3, 2012. The concert is to be held on March 3. Make your plans now and mark your calendar!
